Praja Palana mandate drives Congress municipal poll sweep: Mahesh Goud

Hyderabad: TPCC President and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud said the Praja Palana mandate had delivered a sweeping victory for the Congress in the municipal elections across Telangana.

Speaking to reporters, Goud claimed the party won more than 90 municipalities and four municipal corporations. He said Congress also secured over 1,300 wards and more than 154 divisions statewide. According to him, the outcome reflected strong public endorsement of the State government’s governance and development agenda.

Goud attributed the success to the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. He said the government focused on transparent administration, welfare delivery, and social justice. Moreover, he cited initiatives on women’s empowerment, farmer support, and youth employment as key factors behind the Praja Palana mandate.

He described the results as a “renewed blessing” for the government’s long-term vision of ‘Telangana Rising 2047.’ At the same time, he said the mandate imposed greater responsibility to accelerate development and meet public expectations.

Praja Palana mandate shapes urban development priorities

The TPCC chief criticised opposition parties for allegedly running misinformation campaigns during the polls. However, he said voters rejected negative politics and chose development.

Highlighting urban priorities, Goud said the government was strengthening basic infrastructure. He listed drinking water supply, roads, sanitation, and power facilities as focus areas. Furthermore, he reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to people-centric governance.

Goud congratulated party candidates, leaders, and grassroots workers for their efforts. He said the Praja Palana mandate reinforced public trust in the Congress government’s approach to governance.
