Ponguleti accuses BRS, KTR of land deals under HILT policy

Hyderabad: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Friday launched a sharp attack on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and its working president K.T. Rama Rao. He accused them of misleading the public over the HILT policy and of being directly responsible for questionable land transactions during their tenure.

Addressing reporters at the Secretariat, the Minister alleged that K.T. Rama Rao had approved land auctions in the Kokapet and Neopolis areas while serving as the Municipal and Urban Development Minister. He also accused the previous BRS government of accepting bribes. According to him, they put Outer Ring Road management on the auction block.

HILT policy controversy deepens over past BRS decisions

Ponguleti claimed that two controversial clauses in the current HILT policy were inserted during the BRS regime. “Thousands of acres were auctioned off, both directly and indirectly, under KTR’s supervision,” he said.

He further alleged that 40 acres of land in LB Nagar, leased by a previous Congress government to PV Raju Pharma Company, later became a residential zone under the BRS government. This happened despite local concerns about groundwater pollution.

The Minister questioned how the land use conversion was approved. He stated that the same policy change was applied in the IDPL area. “Didn’t KCR and KTR sign those files? With what policy did they allow the change?” he asked.

Ponguleti accused the opposition of attempting to deflect blame while ignoring their own record on land policies.
