Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended Makara Sankranti greetings to the people of the Telugu states on Thursday. He described the festival as one that filled hearts with joy and gratitude.
In a message shared on X, Narendra Modi said Sankranti reflected the close bond between people and nature. He noted that the festival arrived during the harvest season. As a result, he said it showcased India’s tradition of respecting agriculture and natural resources.
The Prime Minister said Sankranti recognised the hard work of farmers. At the same time, he said it marked a period of abundance and thankfulness. Moreover, he added that the festival promoted harmony with nature.
Narendra Modi wishes happiness and peace to Telugu people
Narendra Modi expressed hope that the festival would bring peace, good health, and happiness to Telugu families. He also wished that everyone’s dreams would come true. In addition, he said every household should glow with the spirit of Sankranti.

Meanwhile, Sankranti celebrations were visible across the Telugu states on Thursday. People travelled from cities to their native villages. There, they joined family members in traditional rituals and festive gatherings.
