PM Modi, top ministers extend Krishna Janmashtami greetings

Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday greeted people across the country on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, calling it a sacred festival that embodies faith, joy and enthusiasm.

“Heartfelt Janmashtami greetings to all countrymen. May this sacred festival of faith, joy, and enthusiasm infuse new energy and zeal into your lives. Jai Shri Krishna!” Modi wrote on X.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also conveyed wishes, describing Lord Krishna as a symbol of righteousness, ethics and public welfare. “The life of Lord Shri Krishna inspires every Indian to walk the path of truth and duty,” Shah said.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, in his greeting, prayed that the festival brings renewed energy and enthusiasm into the lives of citizens. Union Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari too extended greetings on the occasion.

Krishna Janmashtami, marking the birth of Lord Krishna, is observed with prayers, fasting, temple visits, and traditional celebrations. Devotees decorate homes and prepare milk-based sweets as part of the festival rituals.
