Hyderabad: In a fresh development in the Phone Tapping Case, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) issued notices to Kondal Rao, father of MLC Naveen Rao, and Sandeep Rao, son of MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao.
SIT officials directed both Kondal Rao and Sandeep Rao to appear for questioning at 1 pm on Wednesday. The notices asked them to report at the Jubilee Hills Police Station as part of the ongoing investigation.
The move followed the recent questioning of Naveen Rao in the same case. SIT officials questioned him for the second time on Sunday, January 4, 2026. The interrogation continued from morning until late night.
Phone Tapping Case probe widens with fresh notices
Earlier, SIT officials had questioned Naveen Rao for nearly three hours in September 2024. During the latest session, officers questioned him for over eight hours. They recorded his statements in detail.
Investigators examined his alleged links with officials who served in the Special Intelligence Branch during the BRS government. They also focused on his possible role in arranging electoral bonds for the BRS party.
SIT officials questioned whether those funds had any connection to the alleged illegal phone tapping. The issuance of notices to Kondal Rao and Sandeep Rao has now drawn fresh political attention. Officials said the investigation was continuing and further questioning would follow if required.
