Hyderabad: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao on Tuesday termed the SIT notice issued to senior party leader Harish Rao in the phone tapping case as a clear act of political vendetta by the Congress government.
Reacting to X, KTR said the ruling party had resorted to false cases and notices as it failed to face Harish Rao politically. He alleged that political harassment had become the Congress party’s sole agenda in Telangana. According to KTR, the phone tapping case never had any substance.
KTR alleges diversion politics by the Congress government
KTR recalled that the Supreme Court of India had already made it clear that the phone tapping case lacked merit. He said the court’s observations had effectively ended the case. Despite this, he questioned the logic behind issuing fresh notices to Harish Rao.
He alleged that the latest move aimed to divert public attention from allegations linked to coal block allocations involving a relative of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. KTR described Harish Rao as a leader who had stood with people from the Telangana movement to the present day.
Referring to recent political developments, KTR said Harish Rao had consistently exposed the failures of the Congress government. He added that Harish Rao’s aggressive questioning in the Assembly and at the grassroots level had unsettled the Chief Minister.
KTR said the BRS respected the law and the judiciary and remained ready to face any inquiry. However, he warned that attempts to silence the opposition through notices and investigations would not succeed. He asserted that the BRS would continue to question the government and expose its failures at every step.
