Parking row at Hyderabad apartment complex ends in tragedy

Hyderabad: A parking dispute at Vaishnavi Rathika Apartments in Chaitanyapuri, Hyderabad, took a tragic turn last week, leaving one resident dead and the community in shock.

The incident, which actually happened on May 21 but only recently came to light, has rattled the normally quiet apartment complex. Police said the victim, Nagi Reddy, a resident of the complex for 13 years, was killed following an altercation with Krishna Jeevaji, the son-in-law of another resident, Suri Kamakshi (Flat 402).

It all began when Krishna, visiting the apartments, parked his car in the complex’s premises. A while later, Nagi Reddy parked his own vehicle behind Krishna’s, unintentionally blocking it. When Krishna returned to his car, he noticed scratches on it and allegedly blamed Nagi Reddy for the damage. According to the police, Krishna then called the watchman and asked him to bring Nagi Reddy downstairs. An argument erupted, and Krishna allegedly attacked Nagi Reddy during the exchange. Witnesses said Nagi Reddy collapsed on the spot, bleeding from his ears and mouth. His family rushed him to the hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. Based ona complaint lodged by his wife later, the Chaitanyapuri Police registered a case and began investigation.

Officers said they were waiting for the post-mortem report to determine the exact cause of death. Residents of the apartment complex remain shocked by how a minor parking dispute spiraled into a fatal confrontation.
