Parents stage protest over fee hike at HPS Ramanthapur

Hyderabad: Parents staged protests over a fee hike HPS Ramanthapur on Friday, alleging steep and arbitrary increases by the school management.

At Hyderabad Public School, hundreds of parents gathered against the revised fee structure. They said the annual fee rose from ₹83,630 in 2021 to over ₹2 lakh in 2025.

Parents described the fee hike HPS as unjustified and demanded immediate intervention. They were joined by parents from the Begumpet branch, who extended support.

Both groups announced a “fee strike” and refused to pay first-term fees. They demanded a written assurance against further hikes.

Protests also spread to Old City and Kukatpally. Parents raised concerns over academic standards and facilities.

They also alleged lack of transparency in financial matters. According to them, audited accounts were not shared.
