Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force, Central Zone, in coordination with Amberpet Police, busted a major online satta betting racket operating out of a rented flat in Bagh Amberpet. Six individuals were apprehended, and material worth approximately ₹20 lakh was seized.
The arrested accused were identified as Voddepelli Naveen, Pudari Sai Kiran, Soma Mahender, Bingi Sai Kiran, Bingi Avinash (all natives of Kagaz Nagar, Komaram Bheem Asifabad district), and Sana Sai Preetham from Huzurabad, Karimnagar.
The group ran multiple fake Facebook accounts using unverified mobile numbers, promoting illegal betting platforms under names like “Satta Matka Kalyan Result” and “Ashwin Nayak.” They lured punters by offering small profits on initial bets, followed by manipulated losses on larger investments.
The accused charged registration fees of ₹1,000–2,000 for number predictions, created promotional videos featuring fake winners, and used UPI platforms such as Google Pay and PhonePe to collect payments. They operated from a flat rented for ₹14,000 per month.
Seized items include ₹79,000 bank balance from betting proceeds, 17 mobile phones, a laptop, a car, a two-wheeler, 12 rubber stamps, satta charts, and a printer.
All arrested persons, along with seized property, were handed over to Amberpet Police Station for further investigation.
