Nizamsagar floodgates opened as reservoir reaches full level
The reservoir reached its full level of 1405.00 feet, holding 17.802 TMC of water. To manage the rising water, engineers opened five gates. They discharged 40,680 cusecs into the Manjeera river and released another 1,000 cusecs into the ayacut through the main canal.
Officials urged the public to stay alert. They advised farmers, herders, and residents near the river or canals not to enter flood-affected areas. Tourists visiting the dam site were also warned to avoid the floodwater and stay away from low-lying zones.
