NDRF conducts mock drill on disaster response at Shamshabad Airport

Hyderabad: The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on Wednesday conducted a large-scale mock drill at Shamshabad Airport in Ranga Reddy district. This was to demonstrate emergency rescue protocols during natural disasters and calamities. In fact, the overall safety measures at Shamshabad Airport are continually reviewed through such events.

The drill simulated response actions during building collapses, landslides, floods, cyclones, and fire accidents. NDRF personnel explained how rescue teams operate under such conditions at Shamshabad Airport. In addition, they highlighted techniques the public can use to protect themselves during life-threatening situations.

As part of the drill, officials and airport staff were briefed on procedures to follow during unanticipated disasters at Shamshabad Airport. The session also offered demonstrations of how NDRF teams execute high-risk rescue missions and coordinate with other emergency services.

Multiple agencies join NDRF for emergency preparedness drill

District Revenue Officer Sangeeta, along with senior district officials, attended the event. Teams from NDRF, Telangana State Disaster Response Force (TGSDRF), District Disaster Response Force (DDRF), Aapda Mitra volunteers, Fire Department, medical teams, police personnel, and airport authorities participated in the exercise. Notably, Shamshabad Airport continues to host such collaborative drills to ensure readiness.

The event aimed to raise awareness and improve inter-agency coordination in real-time crisis scenarios.
