Nalgonda: mother daughter murder shocks Anumula village

Hyderabad: A mother and daughter were brutally murdered by unidentified assailants in Ibrahimpet village of Anumula mandal in Nalgonda district, police said on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Rudraksha Sumalatha, 40, and Rudraksha Lavanya, 19. According to local residents, the attackers allegedly threw chilli powder into the victims’ eyes before killing them.

The shocking incident created panic in the village and drew large crowds to the crime scene. Villagers suspected that the murders could be linked to superstition and alleged ghost-related beliefs, though police have not officially confirmed the motive.

Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and began an investigation into the double murder case.

Officials registered a case and collected preliminary evidence from the crime scene. Police teams also questioned local residents and began efforts to identify the accused involved in the murders.

The bodies were shifted for postmortem examination as part of the investigation process. Authorities stated that further details would emerge after the inquiry progressed.
