Speeding car kills sleeper in Mylardevpally road crash

Hyderabad: A speeding Innova car rammed into people sleeping on a pavement at Mylardevpally early on Wednesday, killing one person and seriously injuring two others.

The car lost control while travelling from Shamshabad towards Santosh Nagar and mounted the footpath at high speed. The victims, who sold blankets and rugs, slept near their roadside stall at the time of the crash.

The impact killed Deepak on the spot. His father Prabhu Maharaj and brother Sattunath suffered severe injuries. Locals alerted the police, who rushed the injured to Osmania Hospital for treatment.

Mylardevpally road crash devastates migrant family

Prabhu Maharaj had migrated from Uttar Pradesh to Hyderabad with his two sons in search of livelihood. The family earned a living by selling blankets and rugs along the roadside and slept at their stall every night.

At the time of the accident, six people were travelling in the car. After the crash, three occupants fled the scene. Local residents caught the remaining three and handed them over to the police.

Mylardevpally police registered a case and began an investigation. Police officials said rash driving and overspeeding led to the fatal Mylardevpally road crash.
