Munneru river in spate as heavy rains lash Khammam district

Hyderabad: The Munneru river, which flows between Khammam Urban and Rural mandals, rose sharply on Wednesday night following continuous rainfall in the upper districts due to the Montha cyclone. Heavy downpour in the Mahabubabad district led to a surge of floodwater entering Munneru, raising the water level steadily.
