Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) reclaimed 15 acres of prime government land in Miyapur on Saturday. The recovered land, located in Survey No. 44 of Makta Mahaboobpet, is worth nearly ₹3,000 crore.
HYDRAA officials identified encroachments during field inspections and took immediate action. The site lies near the busy Miyapur–Bachupally highway. Earlier, in December 2022, HYDRAA had removed illegal structures from five acres in the same survey area.
This time, teams cleared fresh encroachments and dismantled makeshift boundaries made of tin sheets. They then fenced the property to prevent further land grabbing. Officers also placed official boards identifying it as government land.

Officials act quickly in Miyapur land operation to secure public property
HYDRAA worked with revenue and municipal teams to verify the land status on-site. Their checks confirmed that unauthorised occupants had used fake survey documents.
Commissioner AV Ranganath supervised the operation and directed teams to remove all illegal activity. Authorities booked a man named Imran for trying to occupy over one acre using documents from Survey No. 159.
Earlier, the government suspended the local sub-registrar for processing illegal registrations. That action followed an internal probe into fraudulent land records linked to this site.
