Minority welfare schemes launched to strengthen economic empowerment in Telangana

Hyderabad: Telangana Minority Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin on Wednesday launched Minority welfare schemes aimed at strengthening economic empowerment across the state.

The programme took place at Red Rose Palace in Nampally. It focused on financial support, asset distribution, and employment-oriented skill training for minority youth and women. Through these Minority welfare schemes, the government sought to expand access to self-employment and livelihood opportunities.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister said the government remained committed to inclusive growth and sustainable development. He noted that officials distributed economic assistance and assets to beneficiaries under various schemes for the 2025–26 financial year. According to him, the initiatives would help improve income stability among eligible families.

Government Chief Whip Dr. Patnam Mahender Reddy, Advisor Shabbir Ali, and Telangana Minorities Finance Corporation Chairman Obedulla Kotwal attended the event. In addition, senior officials oversaw the distribution process.

Officials said the Minority welfare schemes aimed to enhance livelihood prospects and promote financial independence among minority households. They added that the department would continue implementing similar programmes across districts in a phased manner.
