Hyderabad: Minister Seethakka directed district officials to stay on high alert as the Montha cyclone threatens to bring heavy rainfall across Telangana. On Wednesday, she held a teleconference with collectors and senior officials from Mahabubabad and Mulugu districts to review preparations for the storm.
Seethakka reviews cyclone preparedness
During the meeting, Seethakka told officers to review the situation regularly and keep emergency teams ready for immediate action. She instructed them to carry out rescue and relief work without delay wherever required. Since several trains stopped due to the cyclone, the minister ordered officials to assist stranded passengers immediately. She also asked them to supply food, drinking water, and other essentials at railway stations and shelters.
Minister urges people to stay indoors
Seethakka appealed to people not to cross overflowing streams or tanks and to avoid flood-prone areas. She urged citizens to follow government safety guidelines until the cyclone subsides and to step out only for emergencies.
Because of the strong cold winds, she advised residents to stay cautious and maintain self-discipline. She also told farmers and cattle herders to protect their crops and animals from damage. In addition, she warned fishermen not to venture into the sea until the weather improves.
