Hyderabad, February11: Minister Ponnam Prabhakar criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), stating that they have no right to comment on the ongoing caste census in the state. He accused both parties of failing to participate in the survey while choosing to criticise it.
The minister announced that caste census forms would be sent to former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, BRS leader Harish Rao, and BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao to encourage their participation. He asserted that Telangana’s initiative in conducting a caste census would serve as a model for the entire country.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to social justice, Ponnam Prabhakar stated that the Congress-led Telangana government is firmly dedicated to implementing 42% reservations for Backward Classes (BCs). He urged opposition parties to support the initiative rather than criticising it without engaging in the process.
