HYDERABAD, February 6: Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has stated that the Telangana government has conducted the Backward Classes (BC) caste census in a scientific manner to ensure justice for weaker sections. He mentioned that under the supervision of IAS officers, approximately 100,000 government employees were deployed to villages to collect data from each household.
Addressing the media, the minister expressed concern over certain intellectuals and associations from weaker sections alleging discrepancies in the process. He emphasized that the government’s sole objective is to ensure justice for these communities. He challenged critics to specify any location for a discussion on the census figures, asserting the government’s readiness to engage.
Minister Prabhakar urged for a collaborative effort to develop a roadmap that ensures justice for the weaker sections and to work together for the implementation of the report. He expressed willingness to address any doubts by meeting concerned individuals directly. He appealed to refrain from holding press meets that might confuse the public and instead suggested providing constructive decisions and advice to the government to ensure justice for the weaker sections. He assured that after the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting today, he would provide a detailed explanation. He also invited retired Justice Eshwaraiah, retired IAS Chiranjeevi, R. Krishnaiah, former High Court official Poorna Chander, and Jajula Srinivas to engage in discussions post the CLP meeting.
