Hyderabad: Eight passengers suffered injuries after an electric RTC bus crashed into a tree in Metpalli town of Jagtial district. Two passengers sustained serious injuries in the Metpalli RTC bus accident and were shifted to Jagtial for better treatment.
The accident occurred during the early hours near the Metpalli Police Station. According to the injured passengers, the electric bus belonged to the Warangal depot.
The bus had started from Nizamabad at 4 am. It later struck a large tree while passing through Metpalli town. The collision severely damaged the front portion of the bus. Passengers said the driver had apparently fallen asleep before the vehicle hit the tree.
Eight people suffered injuries in the crash. Soon after receiving information, police reached the accident site and began rescue measures. Officers shifted all the injured passengers to the Metpalli Government Hospital. Doctors examined them and provided immediate treatment.
