Hyderabad: Football legend Lionel Messi’s Hyderabad tour continued behind schedule on Saturday. It drew thousands of fans to Uppal Stadium ahead of his anticipated appearance for a friendly match.
Messi, along with teammates Rodrigo De Paul and Luis Suárez, was expected to leave for the stadium within an hour. They were to be accompanied by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

In anticipation of the event, the stadium premises filled with excited fans. A laser show held at the venue captivated the crowd. Additionally, live musical performances by popular singers Rahul Sipligunj and Mangli turned into major highlights.
Later in the evening, CM Revanth Reddy is set to take the field alongside Messi for a short friendly match. The two will join the action during the final five minutes, much to the delight of the spectators.
The event is expected to conclude with a special penalty shootout featuring Messi. This is billed as a tribute to his all-time great legacy.
