Hyderabad: Panic gripped Shapurnagar in Medchal district after a chilling threat letter, allegedly from Maoists, was left at the residence of former MLA Kuna Srisailam Goud’s nephew.
The letter, addressed to Kuna Raghavender Goud, son of Kuna Ravinder Goud, demanded ₹50 lakh, threatening dire consequences if the money was not paid. It warned that Raghavender would be killed and his two houses blown up with bombs if the demand wasn’t met. The note also mentioned a follow-up visit the next day.
The suspect, whose identity remains unknown, vandalised items outside the house before leaving the red cloth-wrapped letter on a car parked in front. The incident took place on May 21, as per a complaint filed by Raghavender Goud with local police.
A case has since been registered, and an investigation is in motion. CCTV footage from the area showed a masked individual at the scene, prompting officers to begin efforts to identify and locate him.
The nature of the threat has unsettled residents. Authorities are treating the case as a high-priority matter, given the seriousness of what it could imply.
