Hyderabad: Medaram Festival 2026 is set to witness a turnout of over two crore devotees. Telangana Minister Seethakka said this on Tuesday after reviewing preparations at the jatara site.
Speaking to reporters, she described the Sammakka Saralamma Jatara as the world’s largest tribal congregation. She stated that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy would attend the festival on January 18. Furthermore, a cabinet meeting would also be held at Medaram during the event.
The state government has sanctioned ₹260 crore for this year’s arrangements. This includes ₹101 crore for reconstruction of the Gadde premises alone, and ₹150 crore for infrastructure and services.
Medaram Festival 2026 to get tech-enabled crowd management
Compared to the previous government’s ₹75–₹100 crore allocation, Seethakka said the current administration has significantly increased funding. This boost aims to improve facilities. Construction work will be completed within two days, she added.
She directed medical, electricity, and panchayat departments to remain on alert until the festival concludes. Authorities plan to deploy modern technology at Gadde to prevent stampede incidents and manage the massive crowds effectively.
