Hyderabad: A farmer died after receiving an electric shock near a starter box in his field at Kalan Settipalli village, Veldurthi mandal, Medak district on Wednesday morning.
According to local Sub-Inspector Raju, the deceased was identified as Paina Kishan, a resident of the village. Kishan had left home around 7 a.m. saying he was going to check his agricultural field. When he failed to return, his son Harish went to the field and found him lying near the electric starter box.
Harish immediately alerted nearby farmers, but they found Kishan already dead. The family members believe he died of electric shock.
Based on a complaint filed by Harish, police registered a case and began an investigation. The complaint mentioned no suspicion of foul play in the farmer’s death, the SI said.
