Banks to remain closed for 12 days in May 2025 across India

HYDERABAD: Banking remains one of the most essential daily services – even in the digital age. While online transactions have grown rapidly, several services still require a physical visit to the bank, especially for business owners who regularly deposit or withdraw cash. In this context, staying informed about bank working days is crucial.

According to the latest holiday list released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will be closed for 12 days in May 2025. These include regional and national holidays, along with regular weekly offs.

May 2025 Bank Closures:

– 6 days of holiday due to various regional observances such as:

Labour Day
– Buddha Purnima
– Maharana Pratap Jayanti
– and other state-specific festivals.

– 4 Sundays:
– May 4, 11, 18, and 25

– 2 Saturdays:
– May 10 (Second Saturday)
– May 24 (Fourth Saturday)

Holiday dates may vary from state to state depending on local festivals and observances. As such, bank customers are advised to plan their in-person visits accordingly and make use of online banking facilities during closures.
