Maoist influence in Telangana declines due to effective policing, says IG Chandrasekhar

HYDERABAD: Inspector General of Police (North Zone) Chandrasekhar has issued a significant statement regarding the Maoist Influence in Telangana. He said that due to the effective operations carried out by the police and the government’s comprehensive strategy, Maoist activities have considerably diminished across the state.

Chandrasekhar explained that in recent years, with strong cooperation between the police and the public, the Maoist network has suffered severe setbacks. He mentioned that in several districts, the presence of Maoists has nearly been eradicated, although there remains a risk of activity in some border areas, for which heightened vigilance is being maintained.

The Inspector General appealed to the public to immediately report any suspicious movements to the nearest police station. He stated that the Telangana Police is strengthening its security network through the use of advanced technology and local intelligence to swiftly counter any potential Maoist activities.

Chandrasekhar also emphasised that government development schemes, particularly in remote rural regions, have become an effective weapon against Maoist ideology. Welfare initiatives and infrastructure development have steered youth away from extremist organisations.

He concluded by stating that the joint efforts of the state government and the police force aim not only to maintain the current peace and order but also to completely eliminate Maoist influence in Telangana. He assured that strict monitoring and firm actions would continue in the future to curb any resurgence of Maoist activities.
