Hyderabad: A Malakpet police harassment allegation emerged after a 20-year-old youth died by suicide following his release from jail. Meghawat Mahesh, who was arrested in the Amulyasri suicide case, left a note making allegations against police and the deceased girl’s relatives.
Mahesh, a resident of Chintalabasti, was in a relationship with Amulyasri from Singareni Colony in Saidabad. According to the source, Amulyasri died by suicide last June after her elders reprimanded her.
Following her death, Amulyasri’s relatives lodged a complaint against Mahesh and his father, Wal Singh. Police subsequently arrested both men and sent them to jail.
Mahesh was released from prison recently, according to the report. He later died by suicide at his home on Tuesday.
Before his death, Mahesh reportedly left a suicide note. In the note, he claimed that police had registered false cases against him and that he faced harassment.
The note also alleged that Amulyasri’s relatives were responsible for his death. These allegations were made by Mahesh in the note and had not been independently established.
