Hyderabad: Former Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu extended warm Deepavali greetings to the people, calling the festival a symbol of knowledge, peace, and harmony. Sharing his message on X, he said Deepavali inspires people to dispel darkness not only from their surroundings but also from the world of knowledge.
Naidu said the festival holds deep cultural and spiritual meaning for Indians. He described the legend of Satyabhama slaying Narakasura as a reflection of women’s empowerment. The lamps that spread light equally everywhere, he noted, represent knowledge, peace, and social harmony.

Naidu said the festival of lights, marked by the worship of Goddess Lakshmi on Amavasya, symbolises the divine presence of the Almighty. He explained that lighting lamps in memory of ancestors during Deepavali expresses gratitude and reverence towards them.
He added that offering light during the festival signifies the sharing of wisdom and a commitment to the welfare of others. Deepavali, he said, carries many layers of spiritual and moral meaning that should be understood and respected.
Naidu urged everyone to celebrate the festival in an eco-friendly manner while embracing its true essence. He expressed hope that Deepavali would bring peace, prosperity, and happiness into everyone’s lives.
