Life convict on parole held for vehicle thefts in Dundigal

Hyderabad: Dundigal police arrested a life convict out on parole for committing a series of vehicle thefts in the Gandimaisamma area.

The accused, Gondla Ramulu alias Ramesh, was convicted in a 2016 murder case in Shankarampet PS limits and sentenced to life imprisonment in 2018. He was released on parole for 30 days on 26 May 2025.

After his release, Ramulu allegedly committed thefts of a tractor with a trolley and an Access 125cc bike, later concealing the stolen property.

Acting on surveillance footage and technical leads, a crime team apprehended Ramulu on 23 June 2025 at 6 am from his wife’s residence in Mallampet. During interrogation, he confessed to the offences and the stolen items were recovered.

The arrest and recovery were carried out under the supervision of Medchal DCP N. Koti Reddy, IPS, and ACP Ch. Shankar Reddy. Dundigal Inspector P. Sateesh, Detective Inspector B. Satish, and teams from Dundigal PS and SOT Medchal Zone were commended for their role.
