Hyderabad: A leopard sighting near the Greyhounds police camp in Manchirevula under Narsingi municipality has triggered an alert. Forest officials confirmed the animal was spotted in the area adjoining Chilkur forest four days ago and have since placed the zone under CCTV surveillance.
Police constables reported seeing the leopard again early Thursday. CCTV footage captured its movement across sections of the wooded perimeter surrounding the camp.
A forest department team launched a search operation in the Greyhounds forest area of Manchirevula. Officials said no fresh traces of the leopard had been found as of Thursday evening, but said they were fully prepared with capture gear in case of another sighting.
