Hyderabad: The Media Academy will organise a one-day workshop on land and rural reporting on February 18 at its auditorium in Nampally.
Media Academy Secretary Nagulapalli Venkateswara Rao announced that the programme will run from 9 am to 5 pm. He said the workshop aims to strengthen journalists’ understanding of land rights, agriculture and rural governance.
Experts will explain land laws and dispute resolution mechanisms. They will also cover government schemes in agriculture and allied sectors. In addition, sessions will focus on bank loans, environmental protection and conservation of water bodies.
Media Academy to focus on digital, ethical journalism
The Media Academy will conduct sessions on media laws and the code of ethics for journalists. Moreover, specialists will deliver PowerPoint presentations on digital reporting tools and technical aspects of environmental coverage.
The programme will also address farmers’ issues, revenue matters and rural administration. According to the Secretary, the workshop will help journalists improve professional skills and enhance reporting quality.
He further noted that the media sector is evolving rapidly. Therefore, journalists must adapt to new technologies and deliver responsible, unbiased information. He added that the training offers an opportunity to sharpen professional competence.
