Vivek condemns Kyathanpally attack, blames Balka Suman

Hyderabad: Labour and Mines & Geology Minister Gaddam Vivek Venkatswamy on Wednesday condemned the Kyathanpally attack and alleged that BRS leader Balka Suman and his supporters targeted his convoy during the recent incident.

Speaking to the media in his chamber, the Minister said the attackers damaged window panes of vehicles carrying him and a Member of Parliament. He questioned whether such conduct reflected democratic practice and asked whether senior BRS leader Harish Rao would justify the actions.

Minister alleges role of BRS leader in Kyathanpally attack

Vivek stated that no tension prevailed in Kyathanpally before the incident. However, he alleged that Balka Suman deliberately provoked unrest. He claimed that many witnesses observed the events. He further described the allegations made by Suman as false and politically motivated.

The Minister said the municipal meeting in Kyathanpally was adjourned on the first day due to lack of quorum. On the second day, he alleged, outsiders entered the venue and created disturbances, forcing another postponement. He asserted that his group did not obstruct the election process at any stage.

He also alleged that unidentified persons hurled stones during the Kyathanpally attack. According to him, Suman continued to spread false propaganda in the days following the incident.

Referring to earlier events in Chennur and Kyathanpally, Vivek alleged that previous elections were declared unanimous under pressure and misuse of authority. He asked whether his supporters had created any disturbance when rival groups set up camps earlier.

The Minister condemned the reported attack on vehicles carrying a Minister and an MP. He said such actions were unacceptable in a democratic system. He further alleged that Suman was acting out of frustration after electoral setbacks.

“If Mr. Harish Rao truly respects democracy, he must condemn the attack carried out by Mr. Suman against us,” Vivek said.

He added that in Chennur, his group neither attacked BRS leaders nor ordered arrests. He reiterated his commitment to democratic norms and peaceful political conduct.
