Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Tuesday accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of using intimidation tactics against BRS leaders. He warned that such political pressure would not succeed.
Speaking at Telangana Bhavan, KTR said the Congress government has shown disregard for constitutional values and legal norms. He pointed to the notices issued to T. Harish Rao in the phone tapping case, despite earlier dismissals by both the Supreme Court and High Court for lack of evidence.
Congress accused of targeting BRS over Singareni revelations
KTR alleged that the revived phone tapping case followed Harish Rao’s exposure of Srujan Reddy, the Chief Minister’s brother-in-law, in Singareni tender irregularities. He claimed that nine tenders were manipulated by adding a controversial site visit clause to favour a single company.
Moreover, he criticised Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, saying the cancellation of the Naini coal block tender did not stop similar irregularities in other contracts. According to KTR, the Congress is misleading the public by spreading false stories through the media.
Even so, he affirmed that BRS will continue to expose the Congress government’s failures. He emphasised the party’s respect for the judiciary and its resolve to fight what he called fabricated cases.
Furthermore, KTR questioned Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy’s silence on the Singareni issue. He demanded a judicial probe led by a sitting Supreme Court judge and said failure to act would suggest complicity.
Finally, he warned Revanth Reddy and police officers accused of acting under political pressure. KTR predicted the BRS would return to power within two years and promised action against those responsible for false charges.
