KTR urges Jubilee Hills voters to reject Congress rule in by-election

Hyderabad: BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao on Sunday called the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election a direct referendum on the Congress government’s two-year tenure, accusing it of halting development and mismanaging state affairs.

KTR targets “bulldozer politics” and unkept promises

Addressing party workers and supporters, KTR charged the Congress regime with abandoning Hyderabad’s progress. He claimed the current administration has delivered no meaningful programmes and instead relies on publicity stunts and “bulldozer governance.”

According to him, the Congress made “420 guarantees” during elections and failed to honour any. He urged voters to reject what he termed political theatrics and demanded accountability for stalled infrastructure work.

BRS accuses Congress of misleading BC communities

KTR sharply criticised Congress for its handling of Backward Class reservations. He said the government had announced 42% quotas without constitutional backing, leading to court rejections. “This was never about empowerment. If they mean it, let them push for a constitutional amendment. BRS will support that in Parliament,” he said.

He challenged both Congress and BJP to act sincerely by pursuing legal channels instead of staging “street dramas.”

Cabinet embroiled in corruption and infighting

Turning to governance issues, KTR accused Congress Ministers of using cabinet meetings to pursue personal gain. “From Medaram Jatara tenders to bill clearances, Ministers are fighting over commissions, not policies,” he said.

He also criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for remaining silent in the face of corruption allegations. “When Ministers prioritise deals over governance, who’s actually running the state?” he asked.

Major public transport projects ignored

KTR also condemned the Congress for neglecting the Airport Metro Express and Metro Phase-II projects. He said the Chief Minister had chosen to back a “Future City” plan instead—allegedly to boost land values in areas linked to Congress leaders.

“Rather than building a sustainable city, this government is diverting funds for private gain,” he said.

Public unrest and new BRS inductees

KTR said that people from all sectors farmers, labourers, traders, and women are growing restless under the Congress administration. He described the Jubilee Hills by-election as a necessary corrective action.

“If Congress wins here, they will feel emboldened to cancel every welfare scheme initiated by BRS,” he warned. “Only defeat will force them to act on even a small part of their promises.”

At Telangana Bhavan, KTR also welcomed several new leaders into the party, including Chekkala Ellayya Mudiraj, Chekkala Chandrasekhar, and 2018 Independent candidate Anji Babu.
