Hyderabad: BRS working president and former Industries Minister K.T. Rama Rao condemned the Youth Congress protest at the AI Summit 2026 in New Delhi and termed it inappropriate.
Reacting on social media platform X, Rama Rao criticised the choice of venue for political dissent. He said members of the Youth Congress turned a global event into a stage for “petty political theatrics.”
“It is absolutely deplorable that members of the Youth Congress chose the AI Impact Summit 2026 as a venue for petty political theatrics,” he stated.
He argued that staging protests at an international forum would reflect poorly on the country. According to him, such actions undermine India’s image on the global stage.
AI Summit 2026 protest draws political reaction
Rama Rao said differences of opinion were natural in a democracy. However, he stressed that timing and location of protests mattered.
“Using such a global platform for protests will project our great nation India in a poor light internationally. While difference of opinion is natural in a democracy, understanding where and how to protest is very important,” he said.
He further remarked that an international summit was not the right forum for political dissent. He also pointed out that the protest coincided with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s address at the AI Summit 2026.
“There is a time and place for political dissent, and an international summit is certainly not one of them. And, the irony is hard to miss: Youth Congress guys staged the protest precisely when their own party’s Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, was addressing the same AI Summit,” he added.
