Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Monday launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy during a campaign in Bhupalpally, calling on voters to support BRS and reject Congress in the municipal polls.
Speaking at a public rally, KTR accused Revanth Reddy of degrading political discourse and misleading people across all sections. He urged citizens to vote for the BRS “car” symbol to defend Telangana’s interests.
KTR slams Revanth for failure to govern, links him to Singareni scam
KTR claimed that Revanth became Chief Minister through sheer luck and failed to focus on administration. He accused him of acting as a broker in MLA trading during the Chandrababu Naidu era and questioned his absence during the Telangana agitation.
He further alleged a ₹6,000 crore scam involving the Singareni coal mines. According to KTR, the Chief Minister and his relatives conspired to loot the state-owned firm. “Singareni was making profits, but it is now facing losses because of this government,” he said. He added that BRS had submitted evidence to the Centre, yet no action followed.
KTR warns police, targets Congress over broken promises
KTR cautioned some police officers not to act like Congress agents. He said such misuse of power would not be tolerated. “Anyone who targets our innocent workers will face consequences,” he warned.
He criticized Congress MLAs for failing to bring development to Bhupalpally. He recalled how one legislator pleaded for votes, claiming he would die without them. “People showed sympathy, but the town gained nothing in two years,” KTR said.
He also accused the Congress of betraying Singareni workers and abandoning top leaders like Sonia, Rahul, and Priyanka Gandhi after exploiting their names for political mileage.
