Hyderabad: BRS working president K Tarakarama Rao was questioned for nearly eight hours on Monday by officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau in Hyderabad in connection with the Formula E race case.
The questioning took place at the ACB office located in Banjara Hills. KTR arrived in the afternoon along with senior advocate and former additional advocate general Ramachandra Rao. Before appearing at the office, he held a closed-door meeting with party chief K. Chandrashekar Rao at his residence in Nandinagar.
From there, he travelled to Telangana Bhavan, the party headquarters, and then proceeded to the ACB office accompanied by senior BRS functionaries. The notice summoning KTR for questioning had been served earlier, asking him to appear before the agency on Tuesday. He chose to attend a day ahead.
Sources said the officials questioned him on decisions related to the conduct of the Formula E race in Hyderabad and financial clearances linked to the event. Details of the session were not made public, but officials reportedly informed him that a second round of questioning may be required depending on developments. The ACB reportedly asked KTR to submit his mobile phones which were used between 2021-2024.
Following the questioning, KTR left the ACB office and returned to Telangana Bhavan. Party leaders and cadres were already present in large numbers to receive him. Slogans were raised and flower petals were showered as he arrived at the headquarters.
