Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president K.T. Rama Rao on Tuesday hailed Dasharathi Krishnamacharya as a literary icon and voice of Telangana’s resistance, marking his centenary with tributes to his contributions as a poet and freedom writer.
Calling him a “symbol of the Telangana people’s spirit,” KTR said Dasharathi sparked rebellion through his verse and lived as the voice of the oppressed. He described him as a literary warrior who took up arms through poetry against authoritarian rule.
KTR listed Dasharathi’s celebrated works Rudraveena, Agnidhara, Kavitapushpakam, Punarnavam, Amrutabhishekam, and Timirallo Samaram as enduring symbols of resistance literature.
He noted that the previous BRS government had officially honoured Dasharathi by instituting a literary award in his name and organising official celebrations of his birth anniversary. “We all share the responsibility of passing on his works and spirit of struggle to future generations,” he said.
