Hyderabad: BRS Working President K Tarakarama Rao has issued a legal notice to TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, accusing him of making baseless claims in connection with the alleged phone tapping issue. He demanded an unconditional apology from the Congress leader for what he called false and defamatory statements.
KTR said the Congress had raised the issue only to divert attention from its failure to deliver on pre-poll promises. He said despite the accusations, BRS leaders had cooperated with investigations in all cases registered by the current government.
He alleged that the Congress was using the phone tapping issue as a political tool ahead of local elections to mislead voters. He said the state government was resorting to drama in the name of surveillance without producing any substantial evidence.
Naming Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud directly, KTR accused both leaders of running a campaign of falsehoods to cover up administrative failures. He claimed they lacked the capacity to govern effectively and were instead resorting to what he called “desperate tactics.”
He said the Congress had shelved its flagship schemes and guarantees, choosing instead to target opposition leaders through what he termed as a series of vindictive and baseless actions. KTR warned that such behaviour would not be tolerated and hinted at legal consequences if the attacks continued.
He also cautioned that BRS cadres would not stay silent if personal and political reputations were dragged through the mud. He reiterated that Mahesh Kumar Goud would face court action if he did not withdraw his statements.
