Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao claimed that former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao would return to power in Telangana, citing what he described as growing public dissatisfaction with the Congress government. Addressing party leaders from Amberpet constituency on Friday, he alleged that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s government had only one year left in office.
Rama Rao said voters would bring the BRS back to power. However, he based his claim on his assessment of public sentiment and criticised the government’s handling of essential services and agriculture.
He cited frequent power disruptions and drinking water shortages as signs of governance failures. He also pointed to mounting problems in the agricultural sector. According to the BRS leader, these issues had increased public dissatisfaction with the ruling party.
KTR on KCR return targets drought response and Kaleshwaram
Rama Rao also criticised the government’s preparations for drought and El Niño conditions. He alleged that the administration had received warnings about the phenomenon 10 months earlier but failed to prepare adequately.
He contrasted Telangana’s response with that of neighbouring states. According to him, those states had taken steps to fill their reservoirs, while Telangana had failed to make the best use of its water resources.
The BRS working president also raised the issue of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project. He alleged that the Congress government was deliberately keeping its pumps non-operational to undermine the legacy of KCR.
Rama Rao further referred to alleged structural problems at the Medigadda barrage. He accused the ruling party of using the project’s issues to target the previous BRS government.
The KTR on KCR return remarks came amid his criticism of the Congress government’s performance on power supply, drinking water, agriculture and irrigation. He maintained that public dissatisfaction would help the BRS regain power in Telangana.
