KTR hits back at Jairam Ramesh, says BRS is ‘A-team of Telangana people’

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Tuesday rejected Congress leader Jairam Ramesh’s claim that parties abstaining from the vice-presidential election were indirectly helping the BJP. He asserted that the BRS is answerable only to Telangana people, not to Delhi-based parties.

Speaking in response to Ramesh’s remarks, Rama Rao said the Congress had lost touch with political reality. “This ‘either you are with us or against us’ mindset is outdated and absurd. It shows how the Congress still thinks in binaries,” he said.

BRS is not BJP or Congress ally, says KTR

Rama Rao reiterated that the BRS had no alliances with either the BJP or Congress. “We are neither the B-team of Congress nor the BJP. We are the A-team of Telangana people,” he said. He urged Congress leaders to stop blaming others and instead reflect on their own failures.

He also accused the Congress of arrogance and entitlement, pointing to its decline across many Indian states. “This attitude is why Congress has lost its ground. It refuses to accept that India is not limited to just two national parties,” he added.

KTR says BRS reflects only Telangana’s voice

Emphasizing BRS’s position, Rama Rao said the party’s loyalty is to the people of Telangana alone. “Their welfare, their aspirations, and their voice in Delhi is what we represent. We have no interest in Delhi’s power games,” he said.

Rama Rao also warned against attempts to force regional parties into national blocs. He said that regional parties exist to reflect local voices—not to fit into narratives set by Delhi politics.
