Hyderabad: As political tension deepens over the escalating feud between MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha and MLC Teenmaar Mallanna, Bharat Rashtra Samithi leaders K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao met party chief and former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao at his residence in Nandinagar on Monday. The meeting comes amid party silence over a string of incidents that have raised questions about the BRS’s internal dynamics.
Sources indicate that the leaders discussed the fallout from Mallanna’s remarks against Kavitha and the retaliatory attack on Mallanna’s media office by alleged Telangana Jagruthi workers. The party has so far issued no statement on either Mallanna’s comments or the violence involving Kavitha’s supporters, fuelling speculation of a growing disconnect between the leadership and Kavitha.
Within party circles, talk of friction between Kavitha and the BRS has intensified. The lack of official response is seen by some as strategic distancing. Monday’s meeting with KCR is now being closely watched for signals on the party’s position in the feud.
Meanwhile, Mallanna escalated his offensive, targeting Kavitha again during his “Morning with Mallanna” broadcast on Q News. He defended his use of the phrase “kancham pothu–mancham pothu,” claiming it appears in Telugu Academy publications printed during KCR’s tenure as Chief Minister in 2017, and bears a foreword by him. He suggested Kavitha consult her father on the matter and launched a fresh verbal attack during the segment.
With BRS yet to take a public stance, anticipation builds over the party’s response and the implications for its internal cohesion.
