Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao said the party’s resurgence had begun with the panchayat elections, citing growing public disillusionment with the Congress government and its alleged politics of defection and broken promises.
He was speaking at a felicitation meet for newly elected Sarpanches, Deputy Sarpanches, and Ward Members in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri. During his address, KTR accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of running the state on “loud claims and hollow promises.” He highlighted delays in the Rythu Bandhu scheme and failures in delivering welfare commitments.
He also slammed the Congress for encouraging defections to stay in power. According to him, this practice had weakened democratic values. He alleged that MLAs who switched parties lacked ideological clarity and claimed the Speaker was ignoring procedural violations.

KTR further alleged that BRS workers, especially in Nalgonda, faced political violence. He accused officials of manipulating recounts in several villages and said the party would seek legal recourse.
Citing results from the panchayat polls, he said BRS had won 161 Sarpanch seats in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. He described this as a strong sign of public support and urged party cadres to gear up for the upcoming Zilla Parishad elections.
He contrasted the current government’s performance with the BRS record under KCR. Achievements in irrigation, power supply, healthcare, and agriculture, he said, still serve as governance benchmarks. He expressed confidence that BRS would soon regain political ground across Telangana.
Former Minister Jagadish Reddy, several ex-MLAs, senior leaders, and thousands of party workers attended the event.
