Hyderabad: BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao on Friday dismissed Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s accusation that he had secretly met Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh, stating bluntly that there was “nothing to hide.”
“If I need to meet Lokesh, I’ll do it openly. Not in hiding,” KTR said, addressing media in Khammam. “He’s like a younger brother to me. He’s a well-educated young man from a neighbouring state, and we share a cordial relationship.”
KTR used the occasion to criticise what he described as baseless and politically motivated attacks by Congress leaders. He said allegations about drugs, actresses, and connections to a Dubai death lacked evidence and amounted to slander. “If Revanth has proof, let him show it. If not, why throw around accusations like it’s a cocktail party?” he said.
He accused the Congress of filing “a flood of cases” without material backing and challenged the ruling party to present anything substantial. “A fraud case was filed against me, but even that, they couldn’t present properly.”
KTR also questioned Revanth Reddy’s competence, contrasting him unfavourably with former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao. “Revanth will never match KCR in stature or ability,” he said. Taking the attack further, he remarked that the Chief Minister’s family “should consider admitting him to a mental hospital.”
Brushing off the controversy around his alleged Dubai links, KTR reiterated that his confidence stemmed from a clear conscience. “We’re not scared because we’ve done nothing wrong,” he added.
