Hyderabad: The Telangana Assembly observed the birth anniversary of Konda Laxman Bapuji at its Central Hall on Saturday. Leaders and officials paid floral tributes to the freedom fighter, Telangana movement leader and social reformer.
Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar and Council Deputy Chairman Banda Prakash attended the programme. Whip Addanki Dayakar, Assembly Secretary R. Tirupathi and others also participated in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Gutha Sukhender Reddy said Konda Laxman Bapuji’s life would continue to inspire future generations. He said Bapuji’s contributions as a freedom fighter and Telangana movement leader would remain significant.
The Council Chairman also highlighted Bapuji’s role in advancing social justice. According to Sukhender Reddy, his contribution to public life would continue to be remembered.
Sukhender Reddy said Bapuji had made sacrifices in response to the aspirations of Telangana’s people. He described him as a leader who placed public interests above his political positions.

Meanwhile, Sukhender Reddy recalled Bapuji’s opposition to injustices faced by Telangana. He said Bapuji was among the foremost leaders who raised his voice against those injustices.
The Council Chairman said Bapuji strongly articulated the demand for a separate Telangana state. His public life, he added, reflected a sustained commitment to the interests of the people.
Sukhender Reddy also recalled Bapuji’s steadfast adherence to the principles he believed in. He said that commitment remained a defining part of Bapuji’s contribution to public life.
The programme at the Assembly brought together senior legislators and officials to remember his legacy. Participants paid floral tributes to Bapuji’s portrait during the observance.
