Komatireddy unveils ₹332 crore road works in Narayanpet, vows best roads in India

Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Monday announced major Telangana road projects worth ₹332 crore in Narayanpet district. He asserted that the State would soon have the best road infrastructure in the country.

Speaking at the Praja Palana–Praja Vijayotsavalu meeting in Makthal, he said the Congress government is delivering both visible development and promised welfare. As part of this push, the Minister announced a ₹122 crore bridge across the Krishna River near Atmakur. This will enhance safety at the Jurala Dam and improve connectivity to Narayanapet, Wanaparthy, and Gadwal districts. The new route will reduce travel distance to Mantralayam by 20 km.

Telangana road projects under HAM model to reshape connectivity

Komatireddy later laid the foundation stone for a ₹210 crore 4-lane corridor from Makthal to Narayanapet via Lingampalli, Utkoor, and Tipraspally under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM). He noted that 419 roads are being developed under Phase 1 of HAM. This phase has an outlay of ₹11,399 crore across the State.

The Minister also highlighted a proposed ₹8,000 crore Mannanoor–Srisailam Elevated Corridor. This aligns with the Chief Minister’s long-term vision to transform Telangana’s mobility.

“From village to mandal, mandal to district, and district to the State capital connectivity will be seamless,” Komatireddy said. He added that ₹80,000 crore will be invested in roads over the next three years. He also mentioned future plans for a Bullet Train and highway corridors linking Future City to Amaravati, Chennai, and Bengaluru.

Criticising the previous government, Komatireddy claimed that ration cards and Indiramma houses were denied earlier. However, they are now being delivered by Congress. He urged voters to support Congress-backed candidates in upcoming Sarpanch elections. He said the party remains committed to public welfare and sustained governance.
