Hyderabad: Minister for Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Monday launched ₹10 crore worth of public infrastructure projects in Motakondur mandal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. These include new buildings for the Tahsildar, MPDO, and Police Station.
₹250 crore sanctioned for roads in Motakondur mandal
At the foundation stone ceremony, Komatireddy said the State government had approved ₹250 crore for road development in the mandal. Tenders had already been called, and double-lane roads cleared for several villages. He also confirmed that the long-delayed Kolanupaka bridge works were finally underway.
The Minister commended Aleru MLA and Government Whip Bheerla Ilaiah for using personal equipment to restore 90 irrigation tanks. Contractors had left the task unfinished, he said.
Water, housing, and food access under Prajapalana
Under the Prajapalana government, every household in Aleru would receive a drinking water connection. Komatireddy described the Indiramma Housing initiative as a “festive event,” with each beneficiary getting ₹10 lakh.
He said the government aims to ensure food access by distributing fine rice and instructed officials to reach remote hamlets lacking ration dealers. In addition, he highlighted schemes prioritising women, including free bus travel, PACS centres, and petrol bunks that support financial independence.
Officials welcome projects, seek further development
Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy welcomed the new projects. He criticised the previous administration for not building essential facilities in newly formed mandals. He also applauded Komatireddy for promptly addressing farmers’ cotton procurement concerns.
Government Whip Bheerla Ilaiah said the current government had delivered in two years what the previous regime failed to do in a decade. He requested the Minister to approve a PACS bank and market yard in Motakondur.
District Collector Hanumanth Rao thanked the Minister for the allocations. He promised that the buildings would be completed within six months. The district, he added, leads in Indiramma Housing implementation and timely fund transfers.
Later, Komatireddy distributed housing documents to beneficiaries and handed over a ₹13.73 crore cheque to women’s self-help groups under the Mahila Samaikhya programme.
The event saw participation from senior district officials, market committee representatives, and large groups of residents.
