Komatireddy lays foundation for ₹200 crore Young India school in Nalgonda

Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Monday laid the foundation stone for the Young India Integrated Residential School in Gandham Vari Gudem, Nalgonda district. The ₹200 crore campus will span 25 acres and initially serve girl students, with a separate boys’ campus planned.

Komatireddy said the project aimed to make Nalgonda the education capital of Telangana. He instructed officials to complete construction within nine months, calling it the fastest-built integrated school in the state.

“This is not just about buildings. We are shaping futures,” he said. “No child in Telangana should have to leave home for quality education.”

The school will be part of a wider academic zone, adjacent to Nalgonda’s existing medical and nursing colleges. The Minister noted that the state government plans to invest over ₹20,000 crore in public education infrastructure.

He added that plans are underway to set up a Skill University in Nalgonda to give students career-oriented learning opportunities. The recent approvals of LLB and M. Pharmacy courses at Mahatma Gandhi University were cited as further proof of the district’s educational rise.

Nagarjuna Sagar MLA Kunduru Jayaveer Reddy announced that foundation works for another integrated school in his constituency will begin soon. District Collector Ila Tripathi said funds had already been released and construction would begin on a war footing.

She added that Telangana’s public schools would soon match the standards of top private institutions nationwide.
