Hyderabad: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy criticised the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) for avoiding the Jubilee Hills by-election, saying its silence reflected fear and political insecurity. He called MIM “a curse on Telangana” and further accused its leaders of backing criminal networks operating in Hyderabad.
While addressing the media on Thursday, Kishan Reddy alleged that MIM leaders were linked to what he termed the slaughterhouse mafia. “Several police officials have joined hands with them, and MIM leaders control these illegal operations,” he said.
Moreover, he pointed out that the BJP had already lodged complaints about 39 unauthorised slaughterhouses. However, the state administration allegedly ignored them. “The government chose silence to protect its political allies,” he said, urging immediate action to restore law and order.
Additionally, he accused the Congress and BRS governments of shielding MIM’s activities for electoral gain. “Their silence is deliberate, driven by the fear of losing votes,” he said.
BJP sees Jubilee Hills poll as verdict on MIM dominance
Kishan Reddy said the Jubilee Hills by-election had become a political fight for Hyderabad’s future. “If citizens want to end MIM’s dominance, they must support the BJP,” he said. “This is more than a local contest—it’s about reclaiming the city’s integrity,” he added.
Furthermore, he claimed that public sentiment had turned sharply toward the BJP. “People are rejecting fear-based politics and demanding governance, equality, and safety,” he said. Consequently, he called the by-election a crucial step toward BJP’s 2028 victory.
He also urged voters to make the election a referendum against lawlessness. “Your vote can end decades of intimidation,” he said. Therefore, he appealed to every voter to use the by-election as an opportunity to restore confidence in the city’s administration.
Kishan Reddy targets BRS, Congress for neglecting civic issues
The Union Minister said both BRS and Congress had failed the residents of Jubilee Hills. “They neglected civic infrastructure, safety, and basic services while corruption flourished,” he said.
In addition, he maintained that BJP was the only party addressing people’s concerns. “Roads, drainage, and essential services have been ignored for years. However, BJP stands with the people,” he said. He then urged voters to back BJP candidate Lankala Deepak Reddy to ensure transparent governance.
“We believe in service and results, not slogans. Therefore, Jubilee Hills deserves clean and corruption-free administration,” he added.
By-election seen as test for Telangana’s political direction
Kishan Reddy said the Jubilee Hills by-election could redefine Telangana politics. “When people unite against corruption and fear, true democracy emerges,” he said. “This election can finally end MIM’s grip on Hyderabad,” he added.
He also emphasised that the by-election was not just about one constituency. “It’s about the future of Telangana,” he said. The election will be held on November 11, while counting will take place on November 14. BJP’s Lanka Deepak Reddy, along with Congress and BRS candidates, will contest the seat.
“The result will determine whether Hyderabad remains under MIM’s shadow or moves toward transparency and progress,” Kishan Reddy said.
