Hyderabad: AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge led a high-level Telangana government progress review in New Delhi on Thursday, assessing the Congress administration’s performance over the past two years.
Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attended the two-hour meeting, which brought together Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and his cabinet colleagues. The review focused on governance outcomes, recent electoral performance and pending administrative matters.
Addressing the media after the meeting, TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud said the Congress high command had appreciated the State cabinet for its performance in the recent municipal elections. He claimed that nearly 80 percent of people in Telangana were satisfied with the Congress administration.
He added that Rahul Gandhi sought details about the processes related to integrated schools and their implementation across the State. According to Goud, the interaction remained constructive, with both Kharge and Rahul Gandhi listening to the views of Ministers before offering guidance.
Key outcomes of Telangana government progress review
Mahesh Kumar Goud said Kharge offered suggestions on future administrative procedures and issued directions on key issues discussed during the Telangana government progress review. He also stated that the process of filling nominated posts would begin in the first week of March.
The TPCC chief further said that Kharge would speak to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and him within two to three days regarding the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections.
He clarified that the issue of cabinet expansion did not come up during the meeting. However, the matter concerning Munugodu MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy was discussed, and the party would soon arrange a separate discussion on that issue.
